After the jam-packed update, players can deck themselves out in holiday-themed gear, learn a bevy of new recipes, and unlock three characters for their village. While Stitch, Woody, and Buzz Lightyear are all potential Dreamlight Valley residents, the process of finding and befriending Stitch is more complicated than previous friendship quest lines. It can take players at least five real days for each needed event to trigger.

Stitch Crash Lands Into Dreamlight Valley

The blue alien puppy doesn’t have a realm to call his own, but instead appears in Dreamlight Valley upon completing the mission “The Mystery of the Stinky Socks.” To trigger this quest, players must find a wet sock on Dazzle Beach, leading them to investigate a series of chaotic events involving Donald Duck, Goofy, and Merlin. While helping Donald, he triggers a DNA sequencer that sets the stage for Stitch’s arrival.

Although the quest adds a fun mystery element to the life-simulation game, players have found that it requires quite a bit of waiting. Players have to find and return three different slimy socks belonging to Dreamlight Valley residents, but each one will spawn five in-game days after the previous sock is found. This means that players might have to wait a minimum of 10 in-game days in order for Stitch to arrive. At least this waiting period should be an excellent time to befriend characters like Mother Gothel from Rapunzel or Anna from Frozen.

Lilo & Stitch-Themed Friendship Items

Friendship items are a key aspect of Disney Dreamlight Valley. As players rescue characters from their realm, build stronger friendships, and invite move characters to live in the Valley, they will unlock clothing and furniture unique to the character’s story. Stitch’s friendship quests involve repairing his relationships with the residents who have been terrorized by his mischief, as well as helping him feel at home after landing on a new planet. Not only can players be rewarded with a number of Dreamlight Valley star coins as they earn more friendship levels with Stitch, they will also unlock furniture and wall decals.

For instance, when hitting the second friendship level with Stitch, players unlock a book stand with The Ugly Duckling open on it; a nostalgic nod to Stitch learning to own his uniqueness. Other friendship rewards include a Stitch design motif, a hat in the shape of Stitch’s alien antennae, a hand-scribbled picture of Stitch - done by the alien himself, the model of a city, another cute Stitch and Ugly Duckling wall piece, and a replica of the red spaceship that belongs to Stitch across the entire Lilo & Stitch franchise.

While Dreamlight Valley has established a pattern of populating realms with only one or two iconic characters from each franchise, it is odd to see Stitch playing in the snow without Lilo, Nani, or the other characters from the Lilo & Stitch franchise. This could hint at Lilo being a surprise addition to the realm sometime later. It would also make sense if future realm missions involve helping Stitch save Lilo. Gameloft hopefully sets its sights on including her in future updates, allowing for more Lilo & Stitch fun to hit the Valley.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available now in early access for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
