Overwatch is Coming to the Switch
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate New DLC Revealed
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was arguably the biggest Nintendo Switch exclusive of 2018, and Nintendo has continued to support it throughout this year with regular updates and DLC. This includes the Banjo-Kazooie DLC, which Nintendo confirmed would be available in the game shortly after the Nintendo Direct presentation wrapped up. However, Banjo-Kazooie’s surprise launch wasn’t the only Super Smash Bros. Ultimate news that came out of the September 4 Direct.

Nintendo also confirmed that SNK’s Terry Bogard is the next DLC character for the ambitious crossover fighting game, and that the Terry Bogard DLC will be in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate beginning this November. Nintendo also revealed new Mii Fighter outfits, representing Zero from Mega Man, Sans from Undertale, Goemon from Legend of the Mystical Ninja, and Team Rocket from Pokemon.
Deadly Premonition is Back from the Dead
One of the most shocking announcements from the September 4 Nintendo Direct was the reveal of Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise. The original Deadly Premonition was a cult-classic horror game from Suda51, and it seemed highly unlikely that a sequel would ever materialize. But not only did Nintendo announce Deadly Premonition 2 for a Switch release in 2020, the Big N also revealed that the original Deadly Premonition would be making its way to the Switch as well, in the form of Deadly Premonition: Origins.
A Bunch of Release Dates
The September 4 Nintendo Direct was stuffed full of release dates for a variety of Nintendo Switch games. Some of these release dates were vaguer than others, but even so, the presentation definitely gave fans an idea of when to expect some of the biggest future Switch games. Brand New Pokemon Revealed
When it comes to 2019, the biggest Nintendo Switch games on the horizon are undoubtedly Pokemon Sword and Shield. As such, it wasn’t a surprise to see Nintendo spend a good deal of time on Pokemon Sword and Shield during the Nintendo Direct, revealing some new features like the Pokemon Camp, in addition to two brand new Pokemon. During the Nintendo Direct, Pokemon fans got their first look at the ghost-type Pokemon Polteageist, which is literally a haunted teapot, as well as the flying/water-type Pokemon Cramorant.

SNES Games on Switch Online
Ever since the Nintendo Switch Online service was announced and confirmed to have NES games, speculation has pointed to Nintendo bringing games from its other consoles to the service as well. That finally materialized when Nintendo confirmed the release of SNES games on the Switch, starting with 20 SNES titles for Switch Online subscribers to choose from.
